Administrative Exceptions

Applicants who are granted an Administrative Exception may meet a supporting document requirement via alternative means.

Applicants may explain why they cannot meet a supporting document requirement by requesting an Administrative Exception (AE).

AE requests are submitted via the ‘Administrative Exception’ tab within the AIMG Program application portal. To access the AIMG Program application portal, click the ‘Apply’ button at the top right of the home page. For the 2025 Cycle, AE requests can be submitted from May 1, 2024 @ 9:00am MT to May 26, 2024 @ 3:30pm MT. No requests will be accepted after May 26, 2024 @ 3:30pm MT to allow for processing.

AE requests are reviewed and granted at the sole discretion of the AIMG Program File Review Committee (FRC).

NOTE: Do not use this process to request approval for time out of province.

NOTE: Do not use this process for English Language Proficiency (ELP) testing exemptions. Instead, visit our website and click the survey link provided for that process.
